The 1770 Veterans Open was held on Wednesday 23rd October with a great field in attendance. Local Tania Dickson came out a clear leader winning the ladies division with an 86 off the stick ahead of runner up Boyne Tannum’s Wendy Norris scoring an even 100. Lisa Blanchard from Gladstone came in nett winner with a net 78. Gladstone’s Barry Hanson played a great round of 75 to win the mens division 1, ahead of runner up Brett Newstead from 1770 returning an 82 on a countback from Steve Nelson and Peter Law. Les McCosh from Calliope won the Mens division 2 with an 86 off the stick ahead of runner up Neale Dent from 1770 with an 89. Overall nett winner with a net 66 went to 1770 local Steve Black. Mens division 3 was won by Gary Pritchard from 1770 with 38 points, one point ahead of runner up John Mann from Calliope with 37 points. Chris Delaney from Agnes Coast Slashing & Property Maintenance sponsored the pin shots for the day won by Trevor Russell from Caboolture on hole 5, Cliff Aitken hole 6 and Grant Edwards with an eagle shot on hole 8!! Chris also kindly sponsored a Hole-in-One prize on holes 5 & 6, unfortunately neither prize was won, although Cliff Aitken went very close with his pin shot on the par 3 hole 5 landing it 23cm from the hole!! Longest drives for the day were won by Tania Dickson for the ladies and Rick Arthurson for the mens. Congratulations to all players, look forward to seeing you all again in 2025!
